Based in historic Charleston, South Carolina, Oyster Point Seafood is a seafood distributor specializing in local oysters, soft-shell crab, shrimp, and a variety of fish. We work with the finest restaurants in Charleston and the Southeast, ensuring the tastes of our Carolina waters are highlights and some of the crowning gems chefs can bring to their menus. HISTORY
In the Spring of 1670, 150 English colonists, indentured servants and slaves sailed into the Charleston harbor. By 1692, the expanding settlement recognized the advantages of relocating across the river on the peninsula land called "Oyster Point" - the name derived from the mounds of opened and discarded oyster shells left there by the Kiawah Indians. With its strategic location between the Cooper and Ashley Rivers, this piece of land soon attracted settlers and thus, Charles Town was born.
This city was founded on oysters. Literally. We celebrate and recognize the heritage of where we live; and continue to celebrate our culinary inheritance through our Oyster Point Seafood products and services.
